WHEEL TETHERS

Safety in motor racing sport leaves no room for compromise. As a leading manufacturer, Cortex Hümbelin AG develops and produces wheel tethers for all the reputable teams - from the junior racing classes through to Formula 1 and LMDh. An excellent performance-weight ratio combined with extraordinarily high cutting resistance is the basis for this success. With our expertise and many years of experience in development and production, our FIA homologated wheel tethers offer the highest degree of safety even in the event of serious accidents. Our products are made from a combination of specially processed high-tech fibres. The technologies we have developed are being continually developed further.

The main characteristics of our wheel tethers are:

  • low weight
  • high energy absorption capability
  • extreme cutting resistance under load
  • resistance to high temperatures
  • excellent chemical resistance
  • individual designs with customer-specific tether geometries
